My favorite early Autumn/Fall makeup:

Hello everyone, already in your holiday mood or still lingering in the melancholy Autumn mood?

Either way here we are and today we are talking about my favorite early Autumn/Fall makeup.

Here is the list of product I will give you a mini review:

1- Effaclar BB Blur Cream Mousse with SPF 20

2- Too Faced Better Than SexMascara

3- Benefit Hoola Bronzer

4- Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink (shade 15 Lover)

Effaclar BB Blur Cream Mousse with SPF 20 is the perfect ally for a light makeup during your days off or for people who hate using foundation with an heavy consistency.

The soft and lovely mousse-like texture feels strange at first, but then it blends effortlessly into your skin, blurring pores and covering other imperfections. The color and light coverage remain beautiful and true all day long. It also offers a lovely light coverage that evens out your complexion in a natural-looking way, even if it can’t cover more noticeable imperfections like dark spots or acne scars.

The only problem of this amazing product is that it only comes in two shades, Fair/Light and Light/Medium. Personally, since I have fair skin, my shade is the first one, and it is perfect, but seriously it should be offered in more options.

Its formula is particularly great for oily skin, because it lightly mattifies your shiny face, but thanks to enough emollient ingredients it’s perfect even for those with normal to combination skin (I would not recommend this to those who have dry skin, because it can leave dry patches on your cheeks).

Bonus Point: It’s fragrance free and provides a great broad spectrum sun protection.

I would strongly recommend Effaclar BB Blur Cream Mousse with SPF 20, it’s a product that is amazing but also not pricey at all.

You can find it here

Too Faced Better Than Sex is my favorite and most used mascara at the moment.

If you want to add length and volume to your lashes, this is the perfect product for you.

The color is super black, and the formula gives a “WOW” effect to your lashes that last all day, without smudging or clumping them together.

The hourglass-shaped brush separates and curls each lash to a voluptuous perfection, and it is very easy to use.

One or two coats are enough to add noticeable length and volume to your lashes, but with a few extra coats you will have shocking look-at-me lashes.

The formula doesn’t feel greasy or sticky, however it takes longer than usual to dry. But, like I said, once it is set it doesn’t flake and has a superior wear.

I have tested it during the hot and humid Summer months. I have put it on in the early morning and when I came home later in the night it was still there without any leak on the cheeks.

So, I would certainly recommend this mascara, it is a bit pricey but worth your money due to its excellent quality. Moreover, there is a mini size which is a great idea if you want to try it before buying it; it is also half the prize of the regular one and really cute.

You can find it here

Benefit Hoola Bronzer is my life saver. This powder is very flattering on my fair skin tone, and can add a believable and lovely sun-kissed glow on my face every day, even on a bad day. It is perfect as a bronzer per se, but I also love to use it as a light contour to give tone and shape to my face. Hoola, with its smooth texture and lightly shiny finish, will melt perfectly on your skin. Also, you will only need 2-3 taps from the pot to have a lovely face every day, even the bad ones.

You can find it here

Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink in the shade 15 (Lover). It comes in many colors and I have bought two of them already, but this is my favorite nude shade for every day.

This liquid lipstick is awesome; you can apply it in the morning and even eat oily food, like pizza, at lunch, or drink frizzy beverage, like Cola or Fanta, and this product will stay intact until you have to wash your face at night, not kidding here. Also, it doesn’t smudge on the corner of your mouth and it doesn’t concentrate in the middle of your lips either, like most of the liquid lipsticks do.

At first it goes on wet and a little sticky, it also takes several minutes to dry properly, but once it sets it stays on all day.

Plus, it doesn’t feel dry, cakey or uncomfortable on your lips.

Moreover, the applicator comes with a pointy tip, which means you can create a sharp lip line without using a lip liner. So, I love Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink but is really a pain to remove; make sure to have a dual phase makeup remover or an oil cleanser on hand.

You can find it here or here

This is Thanksgiving week, so happy holidays if you are American! For all of us it also means Black Friday is near. I hope you will find great ideas for your shopping list in my blog. Shop ’till you die! (metaphorically speaking, of course).

See you soon.

Something a bit different today: my top 3 books for these last days of summer. I’ve been reading these great novels over the course of the summer, whenever I get to snatch a sunny moment at the beach or a couple of hours before bed. I loved them, so I want to share my reading recommendations with you. Let’s get started with my favorite one:

1 – “Mr. Mercedes” is a novel by Stephen King. This amazing thriller won the 2015 Edgar Award for Best Novel from the Mystery Writers of America, and the Goodreads Choice Awards for 2014 in the “Mystery and Thriller” category. Also, the TV series based on the first book of this trilogy premiered in the USA on August 9, 2017. So, maybe you will want to read the book, before watching the tv series… or maybe not, it’s up to you, but I can assure you that the show is really awesome. Mr. Mercedes is a page turner, a great thriller that set a retired detective against a criminal that got away.

Many jobless people are standing in line for a job fair when a Mercedes plows into the crowd killing 8 people and severely injuring many. Bill Hodges, a recently retired detective from the local police department, receives a letter from an individual claiming to be the person responsible for the job fair incident, referring to himself as “Mr.Mercedes”. Hodges is divorced, lonely and fed up with his life, occasionally contemplating suicide. The Mr. Mercedes incident had taken place at the end of Hodges’ career and was still unresolved when he retired. Mr. Mercedes knows details of the murder and also mentions Olivia Trelawney, from whom he had stolen the Mercedes. Olivia had committed suicide soon after the massacre out of guilt. Hodges is intrigued and starts to investigate the case instead of turning the letter over to his former police colleague, Pete Huntley.

This novel is the first part of the Bill Hodges Trilogy, the second book is “Finders Keepers”, and the last one that ends the trilogy is “End of Watch”.

“Mr. Mercedes” is saturated with plot twists and, unlike the others Stephen King’s book, it is more like a detective story than a mystery novel per se, but that that’s why I like it so much. This is really a great thriller with a fair amount of thrill, perfect to read during a relaxing summer holiday. Personally, I became intrigued with the cat and mouse game played between the retired detective and the psychopathic killer. Brady is a compelling villain with a tragic background that makes him one of King’s most memorable bad guys.

Then another ”outside the lines’’ book that may have something in common with The Walking Dead series/graphic novel:

2 – “The Passage” is the first book of a trilogy by Justin Cronin. There are three published books in the series and the first book now will be turned into a tv series. The author wrote both an uncompromisingly and suspenseful adventure and an epic chronicle of human endurance in the face of unprecedented catastrophe and unimaginable danger.

“The Passage” begins in the near future and details an apocalyptic and, later, post-apocalyptic world that is overrun by vampire-like beings who are infected by a highly contagious virus. What begins as a project to develop a new immunity-boosting drug based on a virus carried by an unnamed species of bat in South America eventually becomes the virus that transforms the world. The novel extend over more than ninety years, as colonies of humans attempt to live in a world filled with superhuman creatures who are continually on the hunt for fresh blood.

First, the unthinkable: a security breach at a secret U.S. government facility unleashes the monstrous product of a chilling military experiment. Then, the unspeakable: a night of chaos and carnage gives way to sunrise on a nation, and ultimately a world, forever altered. All that remains for the stunned survivors is the long fight ahead and a future ruled by fear—of darkness, of death, of a fate far worse.

As civilization swiftly crumbles into a primal landscape of predators and prey, two people flee in search of sanctuary. FBI agent Brad Wolgast is a good man haunted by what he’s done in the line of duty. Six-year-old orphan Amy Harper Bellafonte is a refugee from the doomed scientific project that has triggered apocalypse. He is determined to protect her from the horror set loose by her captors. But for Amy, escaping the bloody fallout is only the beginning of a much longer odyssey—spanning miles and decades—towards the time and place where she must finish what should never have begun.

Again this book is the first part of a trilogy that continues with “The Twelve” and ends with “The City of Mirrors”.

I love this book because it is an excellent novel, with multi-leveled characters, spiritual mysteries and exciting action scenes. Also the writing is great and well-crafted. So, I really recommend this book, it is an amazing and fascinating read.

In the end, a great young adult novel. This book is perfect for everyone who loves serial killers, murders and bone-chilling plot twists, with young profiler FBI agents:

3 – “The Naturals” is a young adult mystery/thriller by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. This is the first book of a series of four.

Seventeen-year-old Cassie is a natural at reading people. Piecing together the tiniest details, she can tell you who you are and what you want. But it’s not a skill that she’s ever taken seriously. That is, until the FBI come knocking at her grandma door: they’ve begun a classified program that uses exceptional teenagers to crack infamous cold cases, and they need Cassie.

What Cassie doesn’t realize is that there’s more at risk than a few unsolved homicides—especially when she’s sent to live with a group of teens whose gifts are as unusual as her own. Sarcastic, privileged Michael has a knack for reading emotions, which he uses to get inside Cassie’s head—and under her skin. Brooding Dean shares Cassie’s gift for profiling, but keeps her at arm’s length.

Soon, it becomes clear that no one in the Naturals program is what they seem. And when a new killer strikes, danger looms closer than Cassie could ever have imagined. Caught in a lethal game of cat and mouse with a killer, the Naturals are going to have to use all of their gifts just to survive.

This is a fun, fast-paced, intriguing and definitely not predictable read. The dynamics between characters will keep anyone entertained and the writing is also very good. It is the perfect summer book!

The Summer is coming to an end, but hopefully you’ll get a few more lazy, warm days to get some outside reading done.

So, happy reading!

Summer Favourites – Review of Zoeva Sweet Glamour Palette:

Hello everyone! Today is a makeup day review, because we are going to talk about a gorgeous summer palette with lovely pastel shades, the Zoeva Sweet Glamour Palette.

Who is it for?

Everyone who wants a light but colorful makeup for a hot summer day or for a fun, relaxing evening.

What’s good about it?

The range of shades goes from a tender sorbet peach to a soft baby blue with a luscious lemon in between, all of them enchantingly glamorous and perfect to create a dreamy day look.

Despite the light pastel colors the pigmentation is really good and, once applied, these eye shadows wore well throughout a standard workday without fading, flaking and with minimal creasing.

Moreover these eye shadows have a very smooth texture and blend beautifully, even if it takes a bit of work to get the color to show up with a beautiful and intense tone.

These powder eye shadows are also enriched with vitamin E, and are 100% free of parabens, sulfates and fragrance.

So, in this palette you will find 10 eye shadows :

Fuzzy Haze – a cold white with a matte finish;

Phantasy Principle – a rose gold tone with a bright finish;

Quite Realistic – a peachy cold shade with a matte finish;

Object To Subject – a lilac cold tone with a bright finish;

Daydream – a purple shade with a matte finish;

Childhood Adaption – a cold light blue with a matte finish;

Wish Fulfilment – a cold green shade with a bright finish;

Artistic Creation – a yellow tone with a bright finish;

Profusion – a brown tone with a matte finish;

Spirits Held Desire – a cold taupe shade with a bright finish.

This palette offers a great mixture of matte and bright finishes, so you can be creative with your eye shadow makeup; it’s perfect for a unique Summer look!

What’s not so good about it?

The only issue with these eye shadows is that the first application doesn’t bring much color in. A single swipe of one of the 10 shades, especially the lighter tones, will results in a light wash of color on the lids. But the texture and the pigmentation are really good, so the colors are all buildable allowing you to apply multiple layers until you’ll reach the shade you wanted from the beginning. Or you can use a damp brush to make the colors show up a little more.

Another ‘not so good’ fact is that you can buy this lovely palette only on Zoeva website.

 Final thoughts!

If you love pastel hues for Summer you really need to try Zoeva Sweet Glamour, it will be a gorgeous addition to your other eyeshadow palettes. You can also create many unique looks mixing these shades with other nude or dark colors. Plus the prize is great, given the quality of the product, the packaging and the 10 different shades.

You can buy it here.

Review of Morphe Brushes 35 Colour Plum Eye Shadow Palette (35P):

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today it is a makeup day review, because we are going to talk about the Morphe Brushes 35 Colour Plum Eye Shadow Palette (35P)

Who is it for?

Everyone who wants a good, but not so pricey palette, with a wide selection of neutral and autumnal plum colors to achieve a broad spectrum of makeup effects.

What’s good about it?

This huge palette contains 35 generously sized pans, with a mixture of matte, satin, shimmer and micro-glitter finish shadows. From palest ivory to charcoal, the versatile mix of colors of this palette is so amazing that you can easily create various daytime or nighttime eye shadow looks. But the real stars of this palette are the myriad of beautiful purple tones; brilliant violets sit alongside soft mauves, rich blackberries and warm, autumnal plum colors.

I have already used this palette in various situations such as cold/warm weather with high humidity, and I am really pleased with the results, so far. The eye shadows are designed to be applied dry or even wet to achieve various depths of tones and intensities on the lids.

These eye shadows have a good, slightly buttery texture, and after you have blend them well on your eyelids, they deliver an appreciable color payoff. Also, the shades are as bright on the eyelids as they are in the palette.

The Morphe Brushes 35P Palette is packaged within a black, thin plastic container, really nice and lightweight, but also quite large (it has to be, of course, to contain 35 pans), which does make it not so easy to store if you own multiple palettes; no travel friendly size here, girls! 😉

You can find it here.

What’s not so good about it?

The shades are highly pigmented, but some of them are a little bit on the fallout side, in terms of texture, so you have to work patiently with the brush to blend them on your eyelids for achieving a good level of intensity and durability. But this is a minor setback given the overall quality and the great prize of this huge palette . Also, like I said, I have wear them in many different occasions and if you use a good eye primer underneath, they last all day.

There is also a dark/plum color with so many glitters in it that when you put it on your lids it will fall everywhere; beautiful color, but very difficult to blend properly.

Final thoughts!

So, if you are looking for a very good, extremely versatile, not so pricey and very trendy palette for this Fall/Winter season then this is definitely one to check out. In fact, the quality and pigmentation of Morphe Brushes 35 Colour Plum Eye Shadow Palette (35P) is simply amazing for the price.

Summer Favourites: 3 Great Lipsticks/Lipbalms/Gloss

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today we are going to talk about amazing Lipsticks/Lipbalms/Gloss that are perfects for the summertime.

Who are they for?

Everyone who wants a vibrant but lightweight lip product for an easy, everyday (and every night) summer look.

What’s good about them?

They are all bright, joyful, lightweight and fun-colored lipsticks perfects to wear for a walk along the beach, a relaxing aperitif with your BFF, or even for your next (wild) night out.

Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar:

The packaging is really cute and fun; the little bunny emoticon on the cap changes depending on the color.

The texture is smooth, balmy and falls right between a lipstick and a lip gloss.

Also, the formula is slightly hydrating and applies easily. The tint is light but really nice, perfect for everyday use. The smell is sweet but not annoying, and they are also great as an affordable, little gift especially for young girls.

Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar are my favourite go to product, I always have one in my purse when I have to go out for some fast errands during this hot/humid summer days.

Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer:

They come in a classy packaging with the logo on the side of the lid.

The variety of shades is excellent, and the colors are intense. Also, this fragrance-free lipstick has a creamy texture that glides across your lips with ease and deposits full color coverage in a couple of coats.

Its lightweight formula feels really comfortable to wear, thanks to its beneficial and lightly moisturizing ingredients, such as castor oil, olive and apricot kernel oils, and shea butter.

So, if you want a comfortable, nourishing, lightweight but intense everyday lipstick to wear this summer, this definitely is a great product to try!

Clinique says that this lipstick has a “modern-velvet finish” (whatever that means), but actually it has a beautiful soft-shine finish that (after about four hours) fades in a light demi-matte finish; no problem here because it is really easy to reapply. To test the Pop Lip Colour + Primer I choose to buy a box with three travel sizes.

In it you will find:

07 Passion Pop – a rich, classic red, without orange undertones;

11 Wow Pop – a bright pink/almost fuchsia;

09 Sweet Pop – a light pink/almost nude.

I really love them, my favourite everyday and everynight lipsticks to wear through this summer.

OCC Lip Tar-Matte test tubes:

These are one of the best highly pigmented and long wearing lipsticks that I have ever tried! Also, one of my absolute favourite lip product.

To test the OCC Lip Tar-Matte I choose to buy a set with three mini tubes.

In this particular one there are:

Narcissus – a lovely lavander pink

Rollergirl – a vibrant purple

Plus this set contains a mini brush for an easy and precise application.

I think this lipstick has one of the driest texture on the market, so you will have to use a good lip balm underneath to keep your lips moisturized, or the primer that comes along with this set. Speaking of the primer, it has a light and liquid/gel texture. It actually is simply a trasparent gloss that prepares and nourishes the lips prior to applying your favourite Lip Tar.

OCC Lip Tar-Matte are amazing for a long event like a wedding or a party, when you want your lip color to last without fading miserably in just a couple of hours, or looking cakey after drinking or eating.

This liquid/gel lipstick also applies very smoothly, especially if you use a lip brush.

Moreover, with such a beautiful and wide range of shades available your summer beauty look options are endless.

A little bit goes a long way, because you really need a tiny drop to obtain a good full coverage of your lips .

-Bonus point

The formula does not contain parabens, petroleum or silicone and is 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

You can buy them here: US

What’s not so good about them?

Nothing really! They are all great lip products to rock your beauty summer look.

Final thoughts!

In the summer I prefer a fresh, easy and colorful look, so I will use them for my night out, my daily morning errands and every time I want some bright color on my lips!

What’s your favourite beauty look for a hot summer day/night?

Review of La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+:

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today is a skincare review day, because we are going to talk about an amazing sunscreen product – La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+! 🙂

Who is it for?

Everyone who wants an effective but lightweight SPF 50+ broad-spectrum sun protection for the face during the next sunny summer days. Also, if you have oily and/or acne prone skin this is the perfect product you have been looking for ages.

What’s good about it?

If you follow me on Instagram you will know that, 2 months ago, I have started a treatment for my acne prone skin; a prescribed treatment that includes an antibiotic and strong creams that make my skin more sensitive to the sun than normal. So, every day before going outside, I have to apply a high sun protection.

This product is great mostly because it has an almost invisible, lightweight texture but manages to give a brilliant sun protection. Moreover, the finish doesn’t leave the skin feeling slick or looking shiny, a particularly convenient feature for those who have oily skin or plan to apply foundation and/or other makeup with it.

About that, if you are going to use this product with makeup I would recommend to blend a pump or two of your foundation/BB Cream etc., with a pump of the LRP Anthelios XL on the palm of your hand; then apply the new silky mixture you have created on your face. So then you will have a tinted formula great for evening out your complexion, and also to protect skin from sunburn and cell damage from UV rays.

Every morning I used this as a last step in my skincare routine, with or without my favorite foundation or BB cream, at least 20 minutes before leaving the house (I also apply a spritz of Serozinc – my review  here– the ideal mist for topping up and fixing my makeup).

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+ is a non-comedogenic product, and is suitable for even the most sensitive of skin because is made without fragrance and parabens.

You can find it here: UK IT US

Some extra tips about SPF and sunscreen products:

– UV (Ultraviolet) radiations are responsible for our suntan, but familiar effects of over-exposure are also sunburn along with higher risk of skin cancer. So, ALWAYS protect yourself from UV light.

– Sunscreen products should be repurchased new every year, since they degrade, and because of that they can’t be effective anymore.

Apply your SPF 15-20 minutes before you go in the sun. Moreover, sunscreen products are not waterproof, so, if you are going into the water or perspire heavily, you need to reapply them every 90 minutes at least.

What’s not so good about it?

Nothing really, La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+ is, in my opinion, one of the best sunscreen products on the market right now!

Final thoughts!

I really love this product mostly because its creamy lightweight consistency dries down almost instantly for a mattifying effect with or without makeup. Moreover, its absorbent ingredients help hold back oily shine and endure hot/humid conditions. It’s also really affordable.

Review of the Huile Suprême by Phyto Paris:

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today it’s a hair care day review, because we are going to talk about the Phyto Huile Suprême Soin Riche Disciplinant (or Phyto Rich Smoothing Oil)! 🙂

Who is it for?

Everyone who has dry, thick, and/or frizzy hair and wants a lightweight oil to tame it and keep the ends hydrated.

What’s good about it?

This is a wonderful oil for all the girls that, like me, love to bleach or dye or change the color of their locks very often.

As we all know, our hair always suffers because of chemical treatments, colouring, hair dryers, straighteners and even sunshine. The ends especially will dry out, split and suffer greatly from being the oldest hair on our head.

The Phyto Huile Suprême is perfect because the lightweight formula absorbs instantly into your locks, leaving your hair looking perfectly nourished, but not greasy at all. It also helps to calm down frizzy locks, restore healthy radiance to dry hair and repair split ends.

You can use this multipurpose oil on your locks, an hour before you wash your hair, as a pre-shampoo treatment; put one or two pumps on your hand, and apply the product only to the areas of your hair that need it, usually mid-shafts and ends (avoid the scalp). Then, after blow drying your hair, you will notice immediately that your locks are softer, shinier and healthier than before (and they stay that way even the day after).

If you prefer, you can also distribute a few drops of product through your entire length, dry or even wet, before blow drying, straightening or curling it; in fact, this oil has great heat protecting properties, and helps to style your hair, too.

You can also use it as a night treatment; apply no more than two pumps before going to bed, leave it overnight, then wash your hair in the morning for a good beautifying treatment.

The effect of this product is supposed to be accumulative so I would recommend to use it at least once or twice a week, for a long term result.

I really love this oil because it leaves my hair smooth, shiny, and soft, plus my friends always compliments my healthy locks, even if I often put them through strong chemical treatments! 😉

Moreover, the formula of Phyto Huile Suprême is Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates and Silicone free, and 99% botanical.

What’s not so good about it?

One of the key to get good results with this oil is not using too much of it. So, be careful, because if you use too much product you hair will become greasy, heavy and unpleasant to see and style due to the flatness. Usually, two pumps are enough, one if you have short hair.

Also, it can be pricey, depends in which country you will buy it, but anyway it is an amazing product, absolutely worth your money and a little goes a long way.

•You can find it here: US UK IT

Final thoughts!

Phyto Huile Suprême is a deep, but lightweight hydrating oil that will leave your hair healthy, soft, shiny and much more easy to style. It’s a real hair saviour!

Review of Neve Cosmetics Pastello Pencils and Manga Brow Eyebrow Pencil:

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today it is a makeup day review, so we are going to talk about the Pastello Pencils and the Manga Brow Pencil from Neve Makeup Cosmetics. 🙂

Who is it for?

Everyone who wants creamy, matte, long lasting and very pigmented lips/eyes/brows pencils that also have an outstanding quality, are really affordable and suitable for vegans.

What’s good about it?

I have used Neve Cosmetics Pastello Pencils for almost 2 years now and I love them; they are really amazing!

Their formula is natural and silicones, petrolatum and parabens free. They are also cruelty-free and suitable for vegans.

I have the Pastello Eyeliner Liquirizia/Black, which is a classic deep black pencil with a matte finish. This pencil is perfect to use as a classic eye pencil, eyeliner or as a base to create a great smokey eyes makeup. It has a slightly creamy texture that blends on smoothly on your eyelids with a matte color finish that lasts throughout the day/night without bleeding!

I also have the Pastello Lipcolor Pencils in Sfilata/Amaranth, Confetto/Lilac, Pianeta/Purple and Coccinella/Pink. This lip pencils also have a slightly creamy texture that blends on evenly on the lips with a matte finish that sets instantly and won’t budge all day/night long. Moreover, these pencils do a great job keeping lipsticks from bleeding outside the lip lines, and when applied as a base coat to the lips, they also help your lipstick last longer, even through lunch, brunch, dinner, aperitif, night drink, afternoon tea etc. etc. 😉

They are also amazing used on their own as a lip color, but if you like to wear them as a lip color I would recommend applying a good lip balm underneath because they can be quite drying. [You can read a post about my favourite lip balms here].

The shade range is great and includes various tones that complement most lipstick colors.

I also love the Neve Cosmetics Pastello Pencils because, thanks to their natural formula, you can use them everywhere on your skin, on your eyes and on your lips… you can truly unleash your makeup creativity! 🙂

For example, I often use the eye pencils on the lips under a coordinated lipstick; they do an amazing job as well and last all day/night! 😉

Last, but not least, for my brows I use the great Neve Cosmetics Manga Brow Eyebrow Pencil. They are double-ended wooden pencils with two colors, one light and the other darker, and a spoolie brush to draw and tame the eyebrows. I love this Manga Brow Pencil because is perfect to create full eyebrows that look natural, plus is easy to use, affordable and long lasting. First I go for the lighter color to draw the shape of my eyebrow, then I use the darker color to add definition and fill in the empty areas using light strokes. Last I comb my eyebrows with the included brow brush. I have this one in the shade warm blonde and soft brown, but they come in 5 different shades suitable for all eyebrows tones.

•You can buy them here.

*unfortunately some of the shades I have mentioned in this post are no longer available, so sorry! But you can choose similar colors from the new collection.

What’s not so good about it?

Nothing, really! The quality of these pencils is amazing, the formula is vegan and they are also low-cost; a really beauty bargain! The only “negative” point about this products is that you will have to sharpen them with a lip pencil sharpener after a couple of applications. That means that some product is wasted each time you sharpen them, but it is really a minor issue thanks to the low and affordable price of these products.

Final thoughts!

If you are looking for low-cost lips/eyes/brows pencils that have a good quality and long lasting properties look no further, these are perfect. I promise you want be disappointed! Note to myself: buy soon other shades of these amazing pencils! 😉

My favorite Spring lipsticks:

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today we are going to talk about my favorite Spring lipsticks:

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Violet:

This is a super comfortable liquid lipstick with a really matte finish that won’t dry out your lips. Also, its lightweight formula makes this product very comfortable to wear.

This comes in a squeeze tube with a sponge angled applicator that dispenses the product, so it applies easily

The gel-like texture is smooth, extraordinary pigmented and stays on your lips for hours, no need to use a similar lip-pencil.

The quality of the color is very good; you do not need too much product to get a beautiful shade on your lips.

P.S: After approximately 4/5 hours the color is going to fade to an attractive stain, so then you will need to go for a quick re-touch. 😉

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté in Rose Neillia (33):

This is a gorgeous coral/peachy shade that I really enjoy using especially during the hot Spring/Summer days.

The texture is silky, with the hydrating feeling of a lip balm; the color is very rich, pigmented as a lipstick – so I would say that YSL Rouge Volupté is a hybrid between a classic lipstick and a good lip balm.

Is really comfortable to wear, but the creamy texture can easily move into the fine lines around your mouth, so I would recommend using a lip contour pencil.

Yes, this is a designer luxury product, so it’s pricey, but I can assure you that this is an amazing product and it’s worth your money!

This lipstick will last on your lips approximately 5/6 hours, without eating or drinking! 😉

Lancôme Rouge in Love High Potency Lip Color in Pink Bon Bon:

This is the perfect summer pink shade, at least for me!

I really love the creamy texture and the semi-matte finish of this lipstick. Also, thanks to a great silicone-based formula, you will get an impressive amount of staying power, 5/6 hours without a re-touch.

This richly pigmented lipstick has a really creamy texture, yet is also lightweight and beautifully silky.

Again, even this one is a luxury product, so it’s really expensive, but I can assure you that this is an awesome product and it’s definitely worth your money!

No lip contour pencil needed for this one! 🙂

Mac Matte Royal Lipstick:

This is an “unusual” shade that maybe not everyone will like or buy, but you know me, I’m obsessed with lipsticks and the more strange they are the most I love them! 😉

This is supposed to be a deep blue, but on my lips the color it’s kind of an indigo shade; I think it depends on your lips and the differences between natural or artificial light.

The finish is truly matte, so it’s bit drying, too; you will definitely need to apply a good lip balm underneath this one. [A few months ago I did a post about my favorite lip balms here].

This shade is gorgeous, at least in my opinion, very bold and deeply pigmented. It also provides a full-coverage color and really matte/non-glossy finish.

The problem with this lipstick is in the way it wears, and fades. Sadly, it fades unevenly, and only after a couple of hours, it begins to flake on your lips, so you will have to not only re-touch it, but literally re-apply the product again. 😦

No lip pencil needed with this one, but I would recommend, at least, a similar lip contour pencil.

Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in 02 Raspberry:

I know, this is not a classic lipstick, but it is an amazing product for the hot Spring/Summer days/nights; it’s perfect when you want a natural but also a little bit shiny look for a casual night out.

This lip product is soothing, shiny without being too sticky and has a really great sponge-tip applicator.

Also, it is designed to nourish, protect and soften the lips, which it does, extremely well.

So, in the end, I would say that this is an emollient, gel-like lip gloss that moisturizes while imparting sheer, a little juicy color and a minimally sticky feeling. Plus, I really love the scent of this lip oil, it makes me think of a raspberry pie!:)

This is pricey for a “simple” lip moisturizing product, but you will only need a tiny amount on your lips, so a little bit goes a long way. And it’s worth your money because in the end your lips will be luminous, hydrated and very kissable! 😉

Review of the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer:

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today it’s a “fusion” day review, because we are going to talk about the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer. 😉

Who is it for?

Everyone who wants a lightweight, refreshing and fast absorbing primer/morning cream.

What’s good about it?

I’ve been using this primer for a couple months now, and I really love it! If you follow my blog from the very beginning you will know that I have oily/combo skin and some acne scars to soothe after a drying treatment; this primer really helps to cover the scars and the dry, red patches on my cheeks and nose.

Also, the Hangover Replenishing Face Primer has the texture of a fluid lotion that absorbs quickly doing a great job to provide a smooth canvas for makeup application, as well as helping your foundation stay longer.

The bonus point of this primer is that you can’t use it only for its sole purpose, but even as the last step in your skincare regimen instead of your usual morning cream. In fact, it contains coconut water and some coconut-derived ingredients that are great to add moisture to your skin and good alternatives to the other generally used emollients such as silicone and glycerin (this primer does have a light coconut scent, a really fresh and not overwhelming fragrance).

Also its slightly moisturizing formula seems to “protect” your skin from heavy make-up products that can tend to dry out e leave dry patches on your face if you wear it for too many hours.

On the skin Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer feels slightly moisturizing and sets to a lightly dewy finish, making it great especially for those with combo to normal skin.

Moreover, this primer really works (at least temporarily) to even your skin tone and, to a minor extent, fill in pores and fine lines.

According to Too Faced, Hangover is a revolutionary makeup primer infused with coconut water, probiotics and skin revivers that work together to boost skin’s radiance, promote elasticity and help hydrate while locking down makeup for fresher, longer and more flawless wear.

I can honestly say that this primer does exactly what it says it does, plus it’s vegan friendly and paraben free! 😉

What’s not so good about it?

I have to say that it’s pricey for a primer, but you don’t need to use too much of it (I generally use one and a half pump for my entire face), so a little bit goes a long way.

Final thoughts!

If you always had issues with silicone based primers this is the right product for you. Also, I’m very impressed with the qualities of the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer; my complexion has improved since using it and my skin looks more healthier than before. I really recommend this product!
