Review of Avène Cleanance Gel Cleanser:

Hello everyone! Today it’s a skincare day review, because we are going to talk about a great and affordable cleanser: Avène Cleanance Gel Cleanser.

Who is it for?

This soapless cleansing gel is perfect for those who have oily or acne prone skin and need an everyday cleanser that gently but effectively helps to purify your skin, while respecting its physiological pH. However, since this extremely gentle cleanser doesn’t contain harsh active ingredients like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, it works really well even on normal or dry skin, especially after a humid hot summer day.

What’s good about it?

I have been using the Avène Cleanance Gel Cleanser almost every day since I have bought it, nearly a month ago now. I especially love using this cleanser at the end of the day, as a second cleanser, after removing all my make up with a specific product like the amazing Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Makeup Remover (my review here) and the Camomile Cleansing Butter. However, this is also awesome as a first cleanser for your morning skincare routine.

The light consistency of this aquamarine gel becomes soft and soapy once you have massage it on your damp face. Then you can rinse it away with warm water. It’s really easy to use!

Avène Cleanance Gel can cleanse gently and effectively your face, leaving your skin feeling refreshed and balanced, but not dry or tight. It can even help calm sensitive skin!

This hypoallergenic and paraben-free gel is also fragrance-free. Plus, it contains Avène Thermal Spring Water, a great soothing ingredient; Cucurbita Pepo, a vegetal origin extract, which contributes to reduce the excess of sebum, and zinc gluconate, an amazing anti-inflammatory ingredient.

The packaging is also great and easy to use; the small opening on the top of the bottle can assure you that there will be no waste of product (in fact you will only need a small amount of gel to clean your entire face, so a little bit of it goes a long way).

What’s not so good about it?

Nothing, really. This is a very good and effective cleanser. Plus, the huge bottle of 300 ml. is, beyond doubt, a beauty bargain.

You can buy it in every store near you that sell Avène products or online here.

Final thoughts!

I really love skincare products, especially after my acne treatment that dried out my skin so badly that I needed to change my entirely skincare routine! So I really recommend this cleanser gel, to everyone actually, not only to those who have oily/acne-prone skin. It is a really great everyday cleanser, affordable and very effective.

Summer Favourites: A great and affordable BB Cream: SVR Sebiaclear BB Cream SPF 20

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today it’s a makeup/skincare day review and we are going to talk about a product that I really loved last Summer: SVR Sebiaclear BB Cream SPF 20.

Who is it for?

Everyone who wants a good, non greasy and affordable BB cream for unifying and mattifying oily and acne prone skin.

What’s good about it?

I have been using this BB cream since I have finished my acne treatment, so all these past hot and humid Summer months, and I really loved it. I don’t like to put a full coverage foundation on my skin through the Summer, because here in Italy the heat and humidity can be pretty brutal, so your pricey foundation will melt on your skin in a blink of an eye and you will resemble a dreadful kabuki mask. That said, during Spring and Summer months, I usually replace my foundation with a BB Cream; this year I have tried the new SVR Sebiaclear BB Cream SPF 20.

Its thick, creamy, but lightweight texture is perfect to slightly conceal your imperfections and evens out your complexion in a natural-looking way. This is also a great oil-absorbing product that helps to keep your nose, chin and forehead shine-free throughout the day (but if you need an extra shine control power, you can always use a good pressed powder like the amazing Clinique Stay Matte Sheer Pressed Powder, my review here).

Another amazing quality of this paraben and fragrance free product is that it contains a broad spectrum sun protection (SPF20), which protects your skin from UV damage and prevents marks caused by the sun.

Moreover, SVR Sebiaclear BB Cream SPF 20 contains a very effective skin-restoring ingredient: Niacinamide, also known as vitamin B3. Niacinamide improves your skin texture and increases the skin’s barrier functions so that the skin can look and feel more healthy; it also can protect your skin against bacterial infections that can cause acne and blemishes.

Of the two colors offered, I can only speak for the Light shade since it’s the one that suits just about fine my complexion; it blends effortlessly into the skin, blurring pores and other imperfections and offering also a temporary shine control perfect for people with oily skin.

You can find it here.

What’s not so good about it?

Nothing really, this BB cream is an amazing product especially for people with oily or blemishes prone skin, plus it is really affordable! My only complaint is that it only comes in two shades

Final thoughts!

In the end, there’s a lot to love about SVR Sebiaclear BB Cream SPF 20 from its texture that feels great and blends effortlessly into the skin, blurring pores and other imperfections, to its ability to temporarily mattifying your oily skin. Bonus point, it is really affordable. So, I really recommend it!

Review of La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+:

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today is a skincare review day, because we are going to talk about an amazing sunscreen product – La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+! 🙂

Who is it for?

Everyone who wants an effective but lightweight SPF 50+ broad-spectrum sun protection for the face during the next sunny summer days. Also, if you have oily and/or acne prone skin this is the perfect product you have been looking for ages.

What’s good about it?

If you follow me on Instagram you will know that, 2 months ago, I have started a treatment for my acne prone skin; a prescribed treatment that includes an antibiotic and strong creams that make my skin more sensitive to the sun than normal. So, every day before going outside, I have to apply a high sun protection.

This product is great mostly because it has an almost invisible, lightweight texture but manages to give a brilliant sun protection. Moreover, the finish doesn’t leave the skin feeling slick or looking shiny, a particularly convenient feature for those who have oily skin or plan to apply foundation and/or other makeup with it.

About that, if you are going to use this product with makeup I would recommend to blend a pump or two of your foundation/BB Cream etc., with a pump of the LRP Anthelios XL on the palm of your hand; then apply the new silky mixture you have created on your face. So then you will have a tinted formula great for evening out your complexion, and also to protect skin from sunburn and cell damage from UV rays.

Every morning I used this as a last step in my skincare routine, with or without my favorite foundation or BB cream, at least 20 minutes before leaving the house (I also apply a spritz of Serozinc – my review  here– the ideal mist for topping up and fixing my makeup).

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+ is a non-comedogenic product, and is suitable for even the most sensitive of skin because is made without fragrance and parabens.

You can find it here: UK IT US

Some extra tips about SPF and sunscreen products:

– UV (Ultraviolet) radiations are responsible for our suntan, but familiar effects of over-exposure are also sunburn along with higher risk of skin cancer. So, ALWAYS protect yourself from UV light.

– Sunscreen products should be repurchased new every year, since they degrade, and because of that they can’t be effective anymore.

Apply your SPF 15-20 minutes before you go in the sun. Moreover, sunscreen products are not waterproof, so, if you are going into the water or perspire heavily, you need to reapply them every 90 minutes at least.

What’s not so good about it?

Nothing really, La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+ is, in my opinion, one of the best sunscreen products on the market right now!

Final thoughts!

I really love this product mostly because its creamy lightweight consistency dries down almost instantly for a mattifying effect with or without makeup. Moreover, its absorbent ingredients help hold back oily shine and endure hot/humid conditions. It’s also really affordable.

Ingredients:

Aqua / Water Diisopropyl Sebacate Alcohol Denat. Glycerin Dimethicone Isohexadecane Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane Octocrylene Silica Drometrizole Trisiloxane Isononyl Isononanoate Zea Mays Starch / Corn Starch C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer Ethylhexyl Triazone PEG-30 Dipolyhydroxystearate Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine Isododecane Phenoxyethanol Isopropyl Lauroyl Sarcosinate Terephthalylidene Dicamphor Sulfonic Acid Silica Silylate Lauryl PEG/PPG-18/18 Methicone PEG-8 Laurate Caprylyl Glycol Triethanolamine Disteardimonium Hectorite Tocopherol Disodium EDTA Dodecene Propylene Carbonate Poloxamer 407 Zinc Gluconate Perlite (Code F.I.L.: C162700/2)

Review of the Perfect Luminous Liquid Foundation by Dolce & Gabbana in the shade 80 Creamy:

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today it’s a makeup day review and we are going to talk about the Perfect Luminous Liquid Foundation by Dolce & Gabbana, my all time favorite foundation for the winter season!

Who it is for?

Everyone who wants a foundation with a light-to-medium coverage that also lets the skin show through for a more natural but polished look. Moreover, its silky fluid texture dress your skin with a subtle golden reflection and a flawless, dewy finish.

What’s good about it?

This is a gorgeous foundation especially for everyone who wants a good coverage, but hates the feeling of heavy makeup, because it’s liquid fragrance-free texture blends seamlessly on your skin.

I’ve been using this for quite a while now and even if I have acne scars and/or some blemishes the Dolce & Gabbana Perfect Luminous Liquid Foundation provides a good coverage for my combination/oily skin. In fact, this foundation is suitable for breakout-prone skin.

Moreover, it’s lightly hydrating formula wears beautifully for those with normal, dry, or combination skin and it holds up well throughout the day (unless you have very oily skin or live in a hot/humid climate, in that case I would recommend using a primer and a matte powder – like this one by Clinique  because then it would last you longer).

It’s fluid but lightly moisturizing texture will help your skin to look fresh and not cakey for more than 8 hours. I usually have oily skin, but during the winter season I tend to have dry patches on my cheeks and forehead or around my nose; this products has never accentuated them so, at least for me, it’s the perfect compromise between a BB cream and an heavy-coverage foundation!

About the shades: the range is pretty extensive, with options for fair to deep skin tones, but I suggest that you choose among the neutral-hued options instead the pinkish undertones, as those are the colors that look more like natural skin.

It comes in a luxurious glass bottle packaging with a golden cap and pump. The easy-to-use pump applicator is awesome; it disperses just the right amount of product you’ll need.

You can buy it here [US] or here [UK]

What’s not so good about it?

Only one thing… it’s pricey, but it’s also a stellar product! Plus, it’s worth every cent because a little bit of it goes a long way; you only need a small amount for a good coverage on your whole face.

Final thoughts!

I highly recommend the Dolce & Gabbana Perfect Luminous Liquid Foundation to everyone who wants a light-to-medium coverage, a dewy finish with just about the perfect amount of radiance and a natural, yet polished look! 🙂

What’s inside?

Water, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isohexadecane, Mica, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Titanium Dioxide, Glycerin, Sorbitan Isostearate, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Cyclohexasiloxane, Alumina, Caprylyl Dimethicone Ethoxy Glucoside, Aluminum/Magnesium Hydroxide Stearate, Silica Silylate, Sodium Chloride, Zinc Stearate, Hexylene Glycol, Methylparaben, Potassium Sorbate, Propylparaben, Mannitol, Glucose, PCA Dimethicone, Fructose, Sorbitol, Urea, Sodium PCA, Sucrose, Dextrin, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Trehalose, BHT, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Polyquaternium-51, Glutamic Acid, Alanine, Aspartic Acid, Benzoic Acid, Triacetin, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hyaluronate. Ciao a tutti!

Review of La Roche-Posay Effaclar H cleansing mousse:

Hello everyone! Today it’s a skincare day review, because you know… makeup is beautiful, but sometimes you have to wash your face… ehhhhh ;)So, back to the point, I’m going to talk about the La Roche-Posay Effaclar H Cleansing Mousse.

Little premise as always: right now I have very “grumpy” and irritated skin with pimples and blemishes.

Who is it for?

This mousse is a gentle but very effective cleanser for oily, combination and sensitive skin. It is also ideal for acne prone skin feeling weakened by strong treatments and drying skincare products.

What’s good about it?

Although it says it removes makeup, this is a second stage cleanser for me.
It is particularly great as a morning cleanser because it leaves your skin feeling very clean and balanced. Plus, this mousse formula has a lovely soft creamy texture!

I bought it in a pharmacy in my city 2 weeks ago and since then I’ve used it every single morning.

I can say that what I like most about this cleanser is that it does remove excess oil but my dry patches don’t become more dry or irritated.

Also, when you will start to use this your redness skin will soothe day by day.

Used this before the Aloebase Sensitive Gel by Bioearth (my review here) and you will have a perfect combo for fighting blemishes, acne prone and redness skin.

Effaclar H Cleansing Mousse is fragrance free, not comedogenic, paraben-free, and has La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water in it.

You can find it here or in any pharmacy that sells La Roche-Posay products.

What’s not so good about it?

Nothing, really, but this is not a miracle product, it’s just a very good affordable cleanser.

Final thoughts!

Highly recommended if you have been through some strong acne treatments, have used too much drying skincare or you have rosacea.

What’s in it?

Ingredients:

AQUA / WATER • COCO-BETAINE • SODIUM COCOAMPHOACETATE • DIMETHYL ETHER • PEG-30 GLYCERYL COCOATE • PEG-200 HYDROGENATED GLYCERYL PALMATE • POLYSORBATE 20 • SODIUM CHLORIDE • ISOBUTANE • PEG-7 GLYCERYL COCOATE • BUTANE • ZINC PCA • GLYCERIN • DISODIUM EDTA • PROPANE • CITRIC ACID • POLYSORBATE 21 • POTASSIUM SORBATE • SODIUM BENZOATE

Ciao a tutti!

Review of the Aloebase Sensitive Gel by Bioearth:

Hello everyone! Today I’m going to talk about my beloved night cream… Tadaaaaa!… The Aloebase Sensitive Gel Calming and Soothing by Bioearth.

A little premise before I start this post: my skin is problematic and oily, with scars due to acne and blemishes.

Who is it for?

In particular this gel is for who has a sensitive and problematic skin, as do I, in presence of pimples, redness, acne and excessive sebum. But it is really suitable for the nourishment and care of all skin types!

What’s good about it?

I have used it for eight months by now and I have already finished two tubes.

I apply it every evening after doing my cleansing routine.

It will alleviate your skin irritations and the itchiness caused by dermatitis, sunburn, an acne treatment or even a mosquito bite, who knows! 🙂

On the box it’s written that you can use it in the morning or in the evening, but it’s up to you. I prefer doing a good evening skincare because during the night my skin works “hard”, on the contrary,  during the day, we have smog and pollution that can stick on our skin and we must protect it not make it works.

The active ingredients are aloe juice, evening primrose oil and borage oil.

Also, the natural formula of this gel is free from PEG, paraffin, carbomer, parabens, and fragrances and it is nickel tested.

What’s not so good about it?

It can made your skin a little bit sticky at first, but the sensation last only for a second until the gel is fully absorbed.

Final thoughts!

The Aloebase Gel it is an amazing product! It has wonderful natural ingredients and it’s so refreshing, too!

The tube contains 50 ml. of product and you must use it in 9 months, but trust me you will finish it in a blink of an eye because it’s so so good!

You love it already, don’t you?

It’s made by an italian company and you can find it here .

What’s in it?

Ingredients:

Aqua (acqua), aloe barbadensis leaf (succo biologico di aloe vera), glycerin (glicerina, fonte: vegetale), xanthan gum (addensante, gomma xantana), malva sylvestris extract (estratto di malva), citrus grandis seed extract (estratto di semi di pompelmo), helichrysum angustifolium flower extract (estratto di elicriso), oenothera biennis oil (olio di enotera biennis), borago officinalis seed oil (olio di boraggine), potassium sorbate (conservante), eugenia caryophyllus leaf oil (olio essenziale di chiodi di garofano), eugenol (costituente dell’olio essenziale).

Ciao a tutti! Tadaaaaa!… Aloebase Sensitive Gel Calmante e Lenitivo by Bioearth.

Come è fatto?

Ingredienti:

Aqua (acqua), aloe barbadensis leaf (succo biologico di aloe vera), glycerin (glicerina, fonte: vegetale), xanthan gum (addensante, gomma xantana), malva sylvestris extract (estratto di malva), citrus grandis seed extract (estratto di semi di pompelmo), helichrysum angustifolium flower extract (estratto di elicriso), oenothera biennis oil (olio di enotera biennis), borago officinalis seed oil (olio di boraggine), potassium sorbate (conservante), eugenia caryophyllus leaf oil (olio essenziale di chiodi di garofano), eugenol (costituente dell’olio essenziale).
