Review of Avène Cleanance Gel Cleanser:

Hello everyone! Today it’s a skincare day review, because we are going to talk about a great and affordable cleanser: Avène Cleanance Gel Cleanser.

Who is it for?

This soapless cleansing gel is perfect for those who have oily or acne prone skin and need an everyday cleanser that gently but effectively helps to purify your skin, while respecting its physiological pH. However, since this extremely gentle cleanser doesn’t contain harsh active ingredients like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, it works really well even on normal or dry skin, especially after a humid hot summer day.

What’s good about it?

I have been using the Avène Cleanance Gel Cleanser almost every day since I have bought it, nearly a month ago now. I especially love using this cleanser at the end of the day, as a second cleanser, after removing all my make up with a specific product like the amazing Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Makeup Remover (my review here) and the Camomile Cleansing Butter. However, this is also awesome as a first cleanser for your morning skincare routine.

The light consistency of this aquamarine gel becomes soft and soapy once you have massage it on your damp face. Then you can rinse it away with warm water. It’s really easy to use!

Avène Cleanance Gel can cleanse gently and effectively your face, leaving your skin feeling refreshed and balanced, but not dry or tight. It can even help calm sensitive skin!

This hypoallergenic and paraben-free gel is also fragrance-free. Plus, it contains Avène Thermal Spring Water, a great soothing ingredient; Cucurbita Pepo, a vegetal origin extract, which contributes to reduce the excess of sebum, and zinc gluconate, an amazing anti-inflammatory ingredient.

The packaging is also great and easy to use; the small opening on the top of the bottle can assure you that there will be no waste of product (in fact you will only need a small amount of gel to clean your entire face, so a little bit of it goes a long way).

What’s not so good about it?

Nothing, really. This is a very good and effective cleanser. Plus, the huge bottle of 300 ml. is, beyond doubt, a beauty bargain.

You can buy it in every store near you that sell Avène products or online here.

Final thoughts!

I really love skincare products, especially after my acne treatment that dried out my skin so badly that I needed to change my entirely skincare routine! So I really recommend this cleanser gel, to everyone actually, not only to those who have oily/acne-prone skin. It is a really great everyday cleanser, affordable and very effective.

Summer Favourites: A great and affordable BB Cream: SVR Sebiaclear BB Cream SPF 20

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today it’s a makeup/skincare day review and we are going to talk about a product that I really loved last Summer: SVR Sebiaclear BB Cream SPF 20.

Who is it for?

Everyone who wants a good, non greasy and affordable BB cream for unifying and mattifying oily and acne prone skin.

What’s good about it?

I have been using this BB cream since I have finished my acne treatment, so all these past hot and humid Summer months, and I really loved it. I don’t like to put a full coverage foundation on my skin through the Summer, because here in Italy the heat and humidity can be pretty brutal, so your pricey foundation will melt on your skin in a blink of an eye and you will resemble a dreadful kabuki mask. That said, during Spring and Summer months, I usually replace my foundation with a BB Cream; this year I have tried the new SVR Sebiaclear BB Cream SPF 20.

Its thick, creamy, but lightweight texture is perfect to slightly conceal your imperfections and evens out your complexion in a natural-looking way. This is also a great oil-absorbing product that helps to keep your nose, chin and forehead shine-free throughout the day (but if you need an extra shine control power, you can always use a good pressed powder like the amazing Clinique Stay Matte Sheer Pressed Powder, my review here).

Another amazing quality of this paraben and fragrance free product is that it contains a broad spectrum sun protection (SPF20), which protects your skin from UV damage and prevents marks caused by the sun.

Moreover, SVR Sebiaclear BB Cream SPF 20 contains a very effective skin-restoring ingredient: Niacinamide, also known as vitamin B3. Niacinamide improves your skin texture and increases the skin’s barrier functions so that the skin can look and feel more healthy; it also can protect your skin against bacterial infections that can cause acne and blemishes.

Of the two colors offered, I can only speak for the Light shade since it’s the one that suits just about fine my complexion; it blends effortlessly into the skin, blurring pores and other imperfections and offering also a temporary shine control perfect for people with oily skin.

You can find it here.

What’s not so good about it?

Nothing really, this BB cream is an amazing product especially for people with oily or blemishes prone skin, plus it is really affordable! My only complaint is that it only comes in two shades

Final thoughts!

In the end, there’s a lot to love about SVR Sebiaclear BB Cream SPF 20 from its texture that feels great and blends effortlessly into the skin, blurring pores and other imperfections, to its ability to temporarily mattifying your oily skin. Bonus point, it is really affordable. So, I really recommend it!

Review of Jan Marini Bioglycolic Facial Cleanser:

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today it’s a skincare day review, because we are going to talk about the great Jan Marini Bioglycolic Facial Cleanser. 🙂

Who is it for?

In particular, everyone who has oily, blemish/acne-prone skin and wants a deep cleansing action.

What’s good about it?

I have been using this cleanser for more than 2 years now, and I can honestly say that this is one of the best products I have ever tried.

The silky, creamy texture feels good on the skin and the soap-free formula removes, gently and efficiently, all excess of oil and pollution from your face.

For me, this product works best as a second cleanser, so I would recommend using it in the evening, after you had remove all your make up with another specific product, or as a first cleanser in the morning.

Thanks to the glycolic acid present in its formula, Jan Marini Bioglycolic Facial Cleanser helps to unclog your pores, to remove dirt and dead skin cells, and to gently exfoliate your skin leaving your face with clear pores and a more radiant complexion.

Also, this cleanser will leave your face feeling comfortably clean, soft and smooth without stripping your skin dry.

Moreover, its creamy formula is soap-free, fragrance-free and contains an hydrating ingredient, Sorbitol, that helps to balance and nourish your skin, leaving your face feeling soft and hydrated throughout the day.

As I have already said, I prefer to use it during my evening skincare routine as a treat for my skin. First, I gently massage 2 or 3 pumps of product for 30 sec. onto my dry skin, then I leave on for 1 min. max. After that I remove the product with a clean and wet washcloth and 10 to 15 splash of lukewarm water.

•You can buy it here.

What’s not so good about it?

It’s a lot ( A LOT! ) pricey, but the bottle contains a great quantity of product (237 ml., to be precise) and this is an amazing product, so it’s worth your money. Plus, you don’t need too much to do the job (FYI: It lasts 6 months or even more in my bathroom cabinet). 😉

Moreover, the formula of Jan Marini Bioglycolic Facial Cleanser is very gentle, but glycolic acid is really a strong and active ingredient, even if it is present in a small amount, so, if you have combination or slightly dry skin, you can use it only every other day, instead of every day to avoid dryness or tightness. In any case I can assure you that the bottle will last you for a very long time!

Last, I would recommend not use this cleanser as an eye makeup remover, because it will burn your eyes!

Final thoughts!

I’m really satisfied with this cleanser and I suggest this product especially to girls, like me, that struggle with oily, acne prone skin and/or uneven skintone!

My favorite blush and contouring kit with swatches:

Hello everyone! 🙂 Finally winter is here, in full force and freezing temperatures. In this weather your skin can become dry, sensitive and dull as soon as you go outside. So, you want your natural, healthy and glowing look back? A little bit of blush or bronzer on your cheeks will do the trick.Today we are going to talk about my favorite blush and contouring kit!

Let’s start with my favorite contouring kit:

•Kiko – Daring Game Collection – Golden Game Sculpting Bronzer n. 01 Radiant Honey:

This product, a limited edition from the 2014 A/W Daring Game collection, has an amazing packaging, but I can honestly say that it is more than a pretty package, as it performs just as well as it looks! It contains two contouring shades and one highlighter in the same beautifully embroidered compact with a mirror.

The two contouring shades match perfectly, if you are going to use them together, and they can give you a really beautiful and natural “sun kissed” tone. Moreover, this powder medium-bronze contouring kit is awesome especially for those who struggle to find a natural-looking shade for their skin tone, because this is not the least bit muddy or orange looking. I never use too much on my face, because I have a fair/light skin tone, but this product has a very good pigmentation and it will last all day without melting in a strange “foundation beard“… if you know what I mean. 😉

The powder highlighting side of this duo is equally amazing as it illuminates your skin with a light golden sheen of ultra-fine shimmer. I don’t use the highlighter powder very often, because I have oily/combo skin and unfortunately my face can become dewy during the day! (To prevent that I use my favorite powder, you can find the review here.)

The Golden Game Sculpting Bronzer is fragrance-free, and both the bronzer and highlighter have a soft pressed powder texture that applies and blends easily on every skin type.

So, this is a wonderful and affordable option if you want to give your skin complexion a soft candlelit glow and subtle dimension!

And last, but not least, the blush from the same collection:

•Kiko – Daring Game Collection – Top Pairs Blush n. 02 Raspberry Rose and Peach:

Another beautiful package that contains a duo of color-coordinated shades (one pink and one peach).
I use the pinkish one during the autumn/winter season to add a little bit of color on my cheeks, and the peach one in the spring/summer when I have a little bit of tan! 🙂

These blush are richly pigmented and blend easily on your skin—their degree of pigment means a little goes a long way (you really don’t need to re-touch the product multiple times a day with your brush or you’ll end up like a 1800’s doll)! 😉

Also, you will see that both shades work well on their own or mixed to create a great custom color.

The Top Pairs Blush blends really well on every skin type, provides an intensely pigmented and customizable coverage color and the wear time is excellent.

I’ve always loved Kiko special collections/limited editions range because, in my opinion, these products are excellent and they are super affordable especially during the sale season. I can honestly say that, if you want to try something from this brand for the first time, it’s better if you go for the special collections instead of the regular one!

I know that the Daring Game Collection is pretty old and not easy to find, but I can say that the new Kiko All Stars Face Palette, it’s good as well and a brand new collection… you can find it here.

Clinique Stay Matte Sheer Pressed Powder review:

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today I think we can go back to the usual makeup/skincare review. Now it’s nearly September and I love the fizzy autumn air because you can get from point A to point B without having your makeup sweat into oblivion! 😉

Hence today I’m going to talk about my lovely setting “powder of the moment”, so to speak!

Who is it for?

Everyone who wants a pressed powder that can be used alone or to set your makeup (concealer, BB cream or foundation). It’s especially great for combination, oily and/or acne prone skin. Also, if you like a sheer, natural coverage this is the product for you.

What’s good about it?

The Clinique Stay Matte Sheer Pressed Powder is a great every day talc-based powder with a slightly dry and sheer finish. It comes in various shades and there are some good options for almost every skin tones. Its formula, according to the Clinique website, is shine-absorbing and oil-free; the powder will also give you an ultra-sheer texture and the skin will be perfected with a matte appearance. You can apply the product with a powder brush or with the included sponge applicator.

I have oily/acne prone skin and this is the only product that keeps my makeup nice all day, even after frequent touch-ups. Its weightless setting texture seems to literally freeze time: last year, over the course of a long day at school, my makeup stayed exactly the same as it had been when I left my house in the early morning. I must say that I was very impressed, being that the first time I used it. Prior to this product, I tried several powders from other brands, but I think that this from Clinique might just be the perfect one for me in terms of longevity (I have just bought my second box in the past 6 months).

What’s not so good about it?

Nothing really, but the sponge applicator that you can find inside the box is not so great. I would suggest to wash it every evening with some soap and water and leave it dry completely out of the box for the whole night, then the next morning you can use it again!

Final thoughts!

I would recommend the Clinique Stay Matte Sheer Pressed Powder to every girl with combination/oily skin. Moreover, this amazing product will give you a great medium, but also natural coverage, so the person sitting next to you won’t be able to tell that you have your “heavy” foundation on! I have to say that this is a “must have”, at least for me.

You can buy it here [US Costumers] or here [UK Costumers].

Ciao a tutti!

Come è fatta?

Talc, HDI/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Lauroyl Lysine, Phenyl Trimethicone, Zinc Stearate, Dimethicone, Calcium Silicate, Silica, Hydroxyapatite, Isostearol Neopentanoate, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Chlorphenesin, Potassium Sorbate, Mica, Iron Oxides.
