Review of Avène Cleanance Gel Cleanser:

Hello everyone! Today it’s a skincare day review, because we are going to talk about a great and affordable cleanser: Avène Cleanance Gel Cleanser.

Who is it for?

This soapless cleansing gel is perfect for those who have oily or acne prone skin and need an everyday cleanser that gently but effectively helps to purify your skin, while respecting its physiological pH. However, since this extremely gentle cleanser doesn’t contain harsh active ingredients like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, it works really well even on normal or dry skin, especially after a humid hot summer day.

What’s good about it?

I have been using the Avène Cleanance Gel Cleanser almost every day since I have bought it, nearly a month ago now. I especially love using this cleanser at the end of the day, as a second cleanser, after removing all my make up with a specific product like the amazing Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Makeup Remover (my review here) and the Camomile Cleansing Butter. However, this is also awesome as a first cleanser for your morning skincare routine.

The light consistency of this aquamarine gel becomes soft and soapy once you have massage it on your damp face. Then you can rinse it away with warm water. It’s really easy to use!

Avène Cleanance Gel can cleanse gently and effectively your face, leaving your skin feeling refreshed and balanced, but not dry or tight. It can even help calm sensitive skin!

This hypoallergenic and paraben-free gel is also fragrance-free. Plus, it contains Avène Thermal Spring Water, a great soothing ingredient; Cucurbita Pepo, a vegetal origin extract, which contributes to reduce the excess of sebum, and zinc gluconate, an amazing anti-inflammatory ingredient.

The packaging is also great and easy to use; the small opening on the top of the bottle can assure you that there will be no waste of product (in fact you will only need a small amount of gel to clean your entire face, so a little bit of it goes a long way).

What’s not so good about it?

Nothing, really. This is a very good and effective cleanser. Plus, the huge bottle of 300 ml. is, beyond doubt, a beauty bargain.

You can buy it in every store near you that sell Avène products or online here.

Final thoughts!

I really love skincare products, especially after my acne treatment that dried out my skin so badly that I needed to change my entirely skincare routine! So I really recommend this cleanser gel, to everyone actually, not only to those who have oily/acne-prone skin. It is a really great everyday cleanser, affordable and very effective.

Review of Serozinc by La Roche-Posay:

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today it’s a skincare day review! We are going to talk about the ‘Magical Mist‘ a.k.a. Serozinc by La Roche-Posay. 😉

Who is it for?

Everyone who wants a multipurpose mist that can clean, sooth and refresh every skin type.

What’s good about it?

I have used this mist for quite a while now (3 bottles already… and counting) and I absolutely love it. It’s really a brilliant magic product!

This little spray can dispense a really fine mist of water and its simple formula (water, zinc and sodium) is ideal to purify, sooth and refresh your skin in every condition.

In fact, zinc has long been promoted as an ingredient that has positive effects especially on oily and breakout-prone skin; it also has soothing qualities and is good as an anti-irritant.

I have used it as a kind of toner, after cleansing and before applying my acne treatment or my moisturizer.

I have used it as refreshing mist throughout the day during last summer hottest months.

I have used it as a soothing and calming spray when I needed help to deal with bad blemishes and/or inflamed skin; this product really helped me to clear up, purify and calm my skin literally during the night.

Also, it can be used on any sort of irritation, from soothing razor burn to calm nappy rush on baby’s delicate skin.

Moreover, when midday shine sets in, Serozinc can be spray over your makeup to refresh and mattify your complexion.

So, the possibilities are really endless when it comes to this little spray, it can be used for just about everything.

It is also easy to apply; it takes about three seconds to spray it on all over your face whenever you want in your skincare routine, then you can use a cotton pad to sweep it over or simply leave it to absorb and dry fully.

On the bottle you can read that Serozinc is created with just three ingredients: water, healing zinc sulphate (0.10%) and astringent sodium chloride (0.75%). Together, these three ingredients can ensure that your complexion feels fresh and comfortable at any time of day.

Plus it’s hypoallergenic, non-perfumed, and suitable for all skin types.

•You can buy it here.

What’s not so good about it?

Nothing really! Maybe, the only problem is that it’s not so easy to find and buy in store or even on line. I haven’t been able to find it in stores near me yet, so I don’t think it’s already available here in Italy, for example.

Final thoughts!

This is a brilliant product, very effective, really affordable and a must have for everyone.

I’m really in love with Serozinc, the ‘Magical Mist‘ by La Roche-Posay! 😉

Review of The Revitalizing Oil by Darphin:

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today it’s a skincare day review, so we are going to talk about The Revitalizing Oil for face, body, and hair by Darphin. 🙂
Who is it for?

Everyone who wants a multi-tasking and lightweight oil to revitalize, nourish, protect, reinforce and balance the delicate skin barrier of your face.

What’s good about it?

This is an amazing multi-tasking product, in fact you can use it on your face, your body and even on your hair! After using it, your hair will look immediately silkier and stronger with a gorgeous shine. Moreover, its pleasurable scent will help relieve the effect of stress with a welcomed dose of aromatherapy, leaving your body feeling pampered and relaxed inside and out. And, obviously, Revitalizing Oil is suitable for all skin types.

However, I prefer to use it primarily on my face because, thanks to its light and gentle texture, this oil is nourishing but not too rich, hydrating but not greasy and, bonus point, it absorbs instantly leaving no slickly residue behind, just a soft and smooth skin.

The Revitalizing Oil formula is 98% natural and its blend of over 9 essential oils, including sunflower seed, argan, jojoba seed, ylang-ylang and jasmine can help to protect, even out and revitalize your complexion. Moreover, Tamanu and Lavender oil are very good ingredients to balance, detoxify and prevent infections if you have oily, combination or even acne prone skin.

• How to use it: I generally use 3-5 drops for my whole face during my evening skincare routine. I work the oil into my palms then, using gentle pressing motions, I put it on the skin in upwards movements across my face and neck. I always followed by a light texture, moisturizing night cream. I would recommend to try to avoid rubbing the oil into your skin, plus it is better if you apply everything you need to use first (i.e. serum, toner, blemish treatments. etc…) then put it on your facial oil and finish with your favourite moisturizer.

Having oily, acne prone skin I’ve never been a huge fan of facial oils because I’ve always thought they were going to leave my skin super greasy, but now I’ve definitely changed my mind. After using The Revitalizing Oil every other day for almost a month my skin feels smoother, softer and more balanced than before. Also, when I apply it at night, the next morning my face looks radiant, silky and the redness patches are pretty much gone. So, now this oil is an essential part of my skincare regime!

If you will use it only on your face, a little would go a long way, making this product definitely worth of your money. Also, if you’re looking to try something from Darphin range without breaking your bank account, this is the best product!
– You can find it here or here.

What’s not so good about it?

The dispenser… Let’s talk about the dispenser.

I know that many of you will love it and think that it is more practical than a pipette, but for me no, it’s not! The problem is that, if you don’t pay enough attention, the product coming out of the dispenser will literally slip outside the bottle, then you’ll need to try to catch every drop of it with your fingers as if it was the last glob of your favourite jam! I personally would have preferred a pipette dispenser, so much easier to use.

Final thoughts!

In my opinion, this is a great oil that works very well to replenish moisture, give a more radiant and healthy complexion, reduce redness and balance the texture of your skin.

Review of the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Intense Soothing Care Moisturizer:

Hello everyone 🙂 today we are going to talk about La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Intense Soothing Care Moisturizer:

Who is it for?

Everyone who wants a very lightweight, non-oily moisturizer that will hydrate and soothe in a very simple way, leaving your skin with a smooth and soft feeling.

What’s good about it?

This great product has been specifically formulated for skin that’s oily or combination, but at the same time sensitive, allergic or prone to redness.

So, those with this skin type will appreciate in particular the lightweight consistency of this moisturizer, which offers just enough hydration for dry areas, yet absorbs quickly and perfectly into your skin without leaving a greasy and uncomfortable feeling.

I love to use it in my evening skincare routine (or even in the morning, during this cold winter days) after a chamomile base toner which will also help to reduce my redness and repair my acne scars.

So it’s an amazing product for combo/oily/prone-to-acne skins, because this moisturizer will give you just enough hydration for your “crazy” skin to layer over spot formulas, strong acne treatments creams or even to put on beneath your makeup.

According to La Roche-Posay official website: “… the formula has intense soothing and moisturizing powers and it is enriched with Glycerine, Shea Butter, La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water and Neurosensine, an active ingredient which targets coetaneous irritation mechanisms (…)”

Obviously it’s a non-comedogenic product. And it has 0% preservatives, parabens, fragrance, alcohol, colorant and lanolin.

What’s not so good about it?

Personally I don’t like the applicator, and the packaging. The product is dispensed from a pump-action bottle, that seems nice and convenient at first (and it really is when the container is full), but when you clearly see that you have a little amount of product stuck at the bottom of the plastic bag inside the bottle, right then the applicator will stop working. And believe me when I say that open the bottle to collect the last drops of fluid is a nightmare!

Final thoughts!

This is a great choice for people who don’t have a clue about how to moisturize their oily/combo/prone-to-acne skin and also affordable enough for teens looking for effective skincare. With daily use, you will begin to notice an improvement in skin sensitivity, redness and overall skin discomfort.
