Review of La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+:

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today is a skincare review day, because we are going to talk about an amazing sunscreen product – La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+! 🙂

Who is it for?

Everyone who wants an effective but lightweight SPF 50+ broad-spectrum sun protection for the face during the next sunny summer days. Also, if you have oily and/or acne prone skin this is the perfect product you have been looking for ages.

What’s good about it?

If you follow me on Instagram you will know that, 2 months ago, I have started a treatment for my acne prone skin; a prescribed treatment that includes an antibiotic and strong creams that make my skin more sensitive to the sun than normal. So, every day before going outside, I have to apply a high sun protection.

This product is great mostly because it has an almost invisible, lightweight texture but manages to give a brilliant sun protection. Moreover, the finish doesn’t leave the skin feeling slick or looking shiny, a particularly convenient feature for those who have oily skin or plan to apply foundation and/or other makeup with it.

About that, if you are going to use this product with makeup I would recommend to blend a pump or two of your foundation/BB Cream etc., with a pump of the LRP Anthelios XL on the palm of your hand; then apply the new silky mixture you have created on your face. So then you will have a tinted formula great for evening out your complexion, and also to protect skin from sunburn and cell damage from UV rays.

Every morning I used this as a last step in my skincare routine, with or without my favorite foundation or BB cream, at least 20 minutes before leaving the house (I also apply a spritz of Serozinc – my review  here– the ideal mist for topping up and fixing my makeup).

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+ is a non-comedogenic product, and is suitable for even the most sensitive of skin because is made without fragrance and parabens.

Some extra tips about SPF and sunscreen products:

– UV (Ultraviolet) radiations are responsible for our suntan, but familiar effects of over-exposure are also sunburn along with higher risk of skin cancer. So, ALWAYS protect yourself from UV light.

– Sunscreen products should be repurchased new every year, since they degrade, and because of that they can’t be effective anymore.

Apply your SPF 15-20 minutes before you go in the sun. Moreover, sunscreen products are not waterproof, so, if you are going into the water or perspire heavily, you need to reapply them every 90 minutes at least.

What’s not so good about it?

Nothing really, La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+ is, in my opinion, one of the best sunscreen products on the market right now!

Final thoughts!

I really love this product mostly because its creamy lightweight consistency dries down almost instantly for a mattifying effect with or without makeup. Moreover, its absorbent ingredients help hold back oily shine and endure hot/humid conditions. It’s also really affordable.

My 7 Essential MakeUp Brushes and How To Use Them:

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today it’s a makeup day review, because we are going to talk about my most used and loved makeup brushes and tools! 🙂

First things first, I have a lovely brush roll case from The Vintage Cosmetic Company, to keep all of my make up brushes neat and tidy at home or away. It’s really a cute case with a Spring-ish pattern of flowers printed all over it . It has 12 separate sections to hold each brush in place (but I manage to fit more than 12 in it). 🙂

•You can find the The Vintage Cosmetic Company Brush Roll here.

These are my must-have, favourite brushes at the moment:

P.S: I have collected them from various shops just to see what brand I love the most, what I hate and what I like, so this is a good handful of favourites…

1- Real Technique Setting Brush: The medium size and the rounded shape of this brush are ideal for setting powders and easy blending. This particular brush has a luxuriously soft feel and perfectly balanced density that makes blending effortless and smooth.

The well-crafted brushes of Real Technique are famous and award winning tools; there isn’t a bad brush in this brand, they are all aces when it comes to shape, feel, and, most importantly, performance. Plus they are cruelty free because they are made of synthetic bristles.

How To Use It:

– Apply Powder

– Apply and Blend Blush, Bronzer or Highligther

– Contouring

P.S: I love this brand and I highly recommend it, even if a few days ago my amazing Grooming Brush broke in two parts (I don’t even know way), and I had to throw it away, so sad! 😦

2 – Kiko Eyes Brush n.207: This small brush has a dome shape with a slightly pointed end. It is perfect for the precise application of eyeshadows along the line of the eyelashes, in the outer corner and in the crease of the eye. Moreover, it has densely packed and soft hairs that do a great job of picking up and applying powder eyeshadow.

How To Use It:

– Apply Eyeshadows Into Tight Spaces

– Apply Highlighter To Eyes

– Blend or Smudge Eyeshadows Or Eye Pencils

7 – Kiko Precision Foundation Sponges: A classic triangular sponge for makeup application. It easily spreads liquid, cream, and gel foundations, or similar products across the face for a quick and smooth coverage. The pointed tips also works extremely well for applying creamy/gel products in smaller areas like the corners of the eyes or on the sides of the nose. As far as the texture goes, this is a firm, but also soft and flexible sponge, made with hypoallergenic material and latex-free. They are sold in blocks of 4 detachable sponges.

How To Use It:

– Wet or Dry to Apply Creamy, Liquid or Gel Foundation/Products

– The Flat Part To Apply Products Evenly Over The Entire Surface of The Face

– The Angled Part To Apply Products To the More Hard-to-reach corners of The Face

Both the Eye Brush and the Sponges are great quality tools. They are also easy to clean and they maintain their shape through washing and drying. Plus, they are really affordable, hence a beauty bargain!

3 – Sephora Pro Bent Liner Brush n. 23:
I have already did a mini review of this brush here. Anyway, it has an elbow-shaped ferrule to easily draw on gel or liquid liner.

How To Use It:

– Apply a Precise and Firm Line of Your Favourite Gel or Liquid Eye Liner

I really love how it works, it is great to create an easy, precise, firm and flawless line of your favourite gel or liquid liner. Moreover, I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed with its performance and longevity.

Plus, it is cruelty free because it is made of synthetic Taklon fibers.

4 – H&M Eye Shadow Brush (or Flat Shader Eyeshadow Brush):

This brush has densely packed bristles with a flat, slightly rounded end. Also, this sturdy, firm yet soft brush is cut to be workable as a good tool to apply eyeshadow along the lashline, and/or to pack it onto the lid in a patting motion.

How To Use It:

– Apply A Single Eyeshadow To A Small Area

– Blend Eyeshadows Together

– Apply Creamy Eyeshadows or Concealer

Though H&M brushes don’t quite match the quality of the Real Technique brushes, they are well made, affordable and you won’t be disappointed with their performance. They are a really beauty bargain!

5 – The Body Shop Lipstick & Concealer Brush: This brush has extremely dense and ultra-soft bristles that feel exceptionally luxurious on the skin. Moreover, its cruelty-free synthetic bristles won’t retain moisture from liquid or creamy product, so you get a smooth and more even application.

How To Use It:

– Apply Lipstick

– Apply Concealer or Creamy Eyeshadows To A Small Area

– Blend or Smudge Lip Pencils To Fill the Lips

I adore Body Shop Brushes, they are really high quality tools! They work extremely well, they are affordable, considering the great quality, and maintained properly, this brushes will last you for years. I highly recommend them.

6- Essence Eye Blender Brush: This is a small, fluffy brush with a rounded end. Its soft, long yet dense bristles are ideal for blending and/or applying eyeshadow.

How To Use It:

– Apply Eyeshadow

– Blend Eyeshadow Colors Together

– Blend Eyeshadow To Create Soft Lines

Though it doesn’t quite match the quality of the Real Technique brushes, this is a very good, affordable drugstore brand to start your I-do-my-makeup-like-a-pro journey. 😉

Review of the Huile Suprême by Phyto Paris:

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today it’s a hair care day review, because we are going to talk about the Phyto Huile Suprême Soin Riche Disciplinant (or Phyto Rich Smoothing Oil)! 🙂

Who is it for?

Everyone who has dry, thick, and/or frizzy hair and wants a lightweight oil to tame it and keep the ends hydrated.

What’s good about it?

This is a wonderful oil for all the girls that, like me, love to bleach or dye or change the color of their locks very often.

As we all know, our hair always suffers because of chemical treatments, colouring, hair dryers, straighteners and even sunshine. The ends especially will dry out, split and suffer greatly from being the oldest hair on our head.

The Phyto Huile Suprême is perfect because the lightweight formula absorbs instantly into your locks, leaving your hair looking perfectly nourished, but not greasy at all. It also helps to calm down frizzy locks, restore healthy radiance to dry hair and repair split ends.

You can use this multipurpose oil on your locks, an hour before you wash your hair, as a pre-shampoo treatment; put one or two pumps on your hand, and apply the product only to the areas of your hair that need it, usually mid-shafts and ends (avoid the scalp). Then, after blow drying your hair, you will notice immediately that your locks are softer, shinier and healthier than before (and they stay that way even the day after).

If you prefer, you can also distribute a few drops of product through your entire length, dry or even wet, before blow drying, straightening or curling it; in fact, this oil has great heat protecting properties, and helps to style your hair, too.

You can also use it as a night treatment; apply no more than two pumps before going to bed, leave it overnight, then wash your hair in the morning for a good beautifying treatment.

The effect of this product is supposed to be accumulative so I would recommend to use it at least once or twice a week, for a long term result.

I really love this oil because it leaves my hair smooth, shiny, and soft, plus my friends always compliments my healthy locks, even if I often put them through strong chemical treatments! 😉

Moreover, the formula of Phyto Huile Suprême is Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates and Silicone free, and 99% botanical.

What’s not so good about it?

One of the key to get good results with this oil is not using too much of it. So, be careful, because if you use too much product you hair will become greasy, heavy and unpleasant to see and style due to the flatness. Usually, two pumps are enough, one if you have short hair.

Also, it can be pricey, depends in which country you will buy it, but anyway it is an amazing product, absolutely worth your money and a little goes a long way.

•You can find it here: US UK IT

Final thoughts!

Phyto Huile Suprême is a deep, but lightweight hydrating oil that will leave your hair healthy, soft, shiny and much more easy to style. It’s a real hair saviour!

Review of Jan Marini Bioglycolic Facial Cleanser:

Hello everyone! 🙂 Today it’s a skincare day review, because we are going to talk about the great Jan Marini Bioglycolic Facial Cleanser. 🙂

Who is it for?

In particular, everyone who has oily, blemish/acne-prone skin and wants a deep cleansing action.

What’s good about it?

I have been using this cleanser for more than 2 years now, and I can honestly say that this is one of the best products I have ever tried.

The silky, creamy texture feels good on the skin and the soap-free formula removes, gently and efficiently, all excess of oil and pollution from your face.

For me, this product works best as a second cleanser, so I would recommend using it in the evening, after you had remove all your make up with another specific product, or as a first cleanser in the morning.

Thanks to the glycolic acid present in its formula, Jan Marini Bioglycolic Facial Cleanser helps to unclog your pores, to remove dirt and dead skin cells, and to gently exfoliate your skin leaving your face with clear pores and a more radiant complexion.

Also, this cleanser will leave your face feeling comfortably clean, soft and smooth without stripping your skin dry.

Moreover, its creamy formula is soap-free, fragrance-free and contains an hydrating ingredient, Sorbitol, that helps to balance and nourish your skin, leaving your face feeling soft and hydrated throughout the day.

As I have already said, I prefer to use it during my evening skincare routine as a treat for my skin. First, I gently massage 2 or 3 pumps of product for 30 sec. onto my dry skin, then I leave on for 1 min. max. After that I remove the product with a clean and wet washcloth and 10 to 15 splash of lukewarm water.

•You can buy it here.

What’s not so good about it?

It’s a lot ( A LOT! ) pricey, but the bottle contains a great quantity of product (237 ml., to be precise) and this is an amazing product, so it’s worth your money. Plus, you don’t need too much to do the job (FYI: It lasts 6 months or even more in my bathroom cabinet). 😉

Moreover, the formula of Jan Marini Bioglycolic Facial Cleanser is very gentle, but glycolic acid is really a strong and active ingredient, even if it is present in a small amount, so, if you have combination or slightly dry skin, you can use it only every other day, instead of every day to avoid dryness or tightness. In any case I can assure you that the bottle will last you for a very long time!

Last, I would recommend not use this cleanser as an eye makeup remover, because it will burn your eyes!

Final thoughts!

I’m really satisfied with this cleanser and I suggest this product especially to girls, like me, that struggle with oily, acne prone skin and/or uneven skintone!
